US Soldier Found Dead in Kuwait Camp

A U.S. soldier was found dead on Tuesday at an American military camp in the southern Kuwaiti desert, the U.S. military said.

A military statement said the soldier, who was not named pending notification of his family, was not killed in combat.

"A full investigation of the circumstances surrounding the incident is underway," it added.

American-allied Kuwait, used as the launch pad for the 2003 U.S.-led war on Iraq, is home to some 30,000 U.S. soldiers and nearly 12,000 American citizens.
